About Hayley Stokes Art.
Looking for art fueled by a celebration of the good things in our world? Are you uplifted by the moments that connect us to one another and to our beautiful environments?
These are the things that motivate and inspire me and I hope that my artwork expresses enough of that to bring my own experienced joy and hope to the walls in your houses and hearts.
Additionally I create events filled with the same positive and kind energy to support people expressing their own experiences through paint and other art media.
Originally graduating in psychology and working as a forensic psychologist for more than ten years, I took a career break to focus on family after having my second child and ended up making the decision to go back to university to pursue a lifelong passion for art.
After a mind blowing artistic experience on the art and design foundation course at DMU, I was awarded the Christopherson Award for my animated film about motherhood It's About Feeling Loved. I went on to achieve a First Class degree in Fine Art at Loughborough University where my final piece was an installation about family relationships, incorporating poetry and sound. Despite these exciting contemporary explorations, I found myself with a remaining frustration that I still had not done enough drawing and painting.
Since then, I've been making up for it by expressing with pencils or paint what I see and feel, producing bold, often colourful and evocative imagery and sharing what I learn as I go with anyone else who wants to try it.
I welcome opportunities to produce commissioned artworks. Please do not hesitate to email me with your request so we can discuss what you need and I can provide a quote.
